How does the Laser Nail Treatment work?
The laser light passes through the toenails without causing damage to the nails or the surrounding skin. At the time of the Laser Nail Procedure, the toenail will not become instantly clear, it takes time to grow out.
What can I expect at your office?
A consultation with Dr. Lucas, the Laser Nail Procedure to be performed and any follow-up visits as prescribed by Dr. Lucas.
Is the Laser Nail Procedure painful?
Most people feel very little pain. Some people feel a warming sensation and very few feel a pinprick.
Is there a recovery period?
No; just walk in and walk out.
How long does the procedure take?
The Laser Toenail procedure takes about 30-40 minutes.
Will the fungus come back?
The infection typically improves following one treatment and Dr. Lucas will recommend a second treatment in 6 months which is included in the price. Homecare techniques are also recommended to reduce recurrence of the infection.
When can I paint my nails or have a pedicure?
You can apply polish immediately after the treatment. It is important to remove all nail polish and nail decorations the day before your treatment.
How much does the Laser Toenail Treatment cost?
The Laser Nail Treatment is applied to all of the toenails on both feet, even the ones that appear uninfected. This reduces the chance of reinfection. There is an initial consultation with the doctor to see if you are a candidate for the treatment. The treatment fee is $400-800. The Price is comparable to that of taking oral anti-fungal medications for 6 months along with liver function tests, which are indicated with these medications.
How do I pay for the procedure?
We accept most major Credit Cards (VISA, Mastercard, American Express and Discover), Debit Cards (with VISA or Mastercard Logo only) and cash. We no longer accept personal checks.
Is this covered by my insurance?
This procedure is considered aesthetic and therefore health insurance does not provide coverage.
